shut up you idiot. If you read what I posted and the article/updates contained in the article, those were before the release date. The ones on/after the release date are all fine, so you owned yourself, retard.

I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you over this.

But nowhere in your article does it say ANYTHING about the card being fixed before shipment. Being that WarHammer's article mentions that the launch could be delayed means that the shipments have already been sent out, they just need to be fixed/replaced. Granted they didn't make it to end users yet, but they were still sent out.

I could really care less who uses what card and why. I just use what I know works.

And I saw that link when I was writing this. They still recalled them. Just because they haven't made it to end users yet, doesn't mean that it still isn't a recall.

The grammar I'm not really paying attention to, but I agree there.

I also agree that they aren't recalling all of them.

We have received news that all the 8800GTX cards out in the channel are being recalled due to manufacturing defect. We heard it is probably due to a resistor controlling 2D/3D switching and that leads to 3D corruption. However, the defect doesn't affect the 8800GTS cards. This issue probably could delay the launch, if not, there could be no availability of 8800GTX cards at launch but just GTS.
Update #1 : No affect on launch date as yet
Update #2 : NVIDIA will handle the necessary hardware changes (changing of resistors)
Update #3 : Only some 8800GTX cards are affected due to wrong resistor value by a contract manufacturer but to be safe, all the card makers are recalling their cards
Update #4 : For those cards that are already shipped out, card makers will send the correct resistors to the distributors and they will be handling the soldering work themselves. There should be no delay or minor delay in the sale of the 8800GTX cards.
Update #5 : We heard that the resistor has something to do with memory voltage
Update #6 : The affected resistor is located at R520. The correct resistance should be 25.5K ohms.

Those cards are still the production model that was released.

But I am going to agree to disagree.



TO RECAP:

NO, not ALL cards were recalled. The add-in card partners are still considered part of the production model.

I'm not worried about the grammar, I haven't had more than 7 hours of sleep one day this week, and could care less.

Since when did "need" start factoring into computer hardware purchases. Sheesh, if we had to factor in "need" everytime we bought a computer part F1 would have never been able to give us the Death Star Mainframe. (can't find anymore links to it). Wonder if F1 dismantled it because of the "rolling black outs" it caused a few years back?

As usual, I welcome all things silicon (and silicone for that matter) especially if they are bigger, smoother and faster.

FPS results are in; check out tomshardware.com vga charts for the 8800gtx vs 1950xtx, hl2 high settings at 1280x1024 8800gtx bests the x1950xtx by just under 28 fps! My question to you; is 28 fps worth an extra 200 dollars when were talking 100fps baseline? when anything over 45 fps has a cenimatic movie like quality. Or do you just want to spend alot of money on having the best computer **** for your team deathmatches so you can be a pro-gamer?
