No, not "maybe", but he is right.

Maybe you could google on "macafee bloatware" and "norton bloatware".
Read what you find and make your own opinion.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass here, but after you've dealt with it on a
few customer machines you don't need to waste time reading reviews on the
    piece of ****.

The problems are with the rquirements on the Internet Explorer browser, registration
process, lack of the Command Line Scanner, lack of fully configuring the product, etc,
    etc...

That's exactly the point - I don't have any experience with it. Apparently
you have and it hasn't been good <g>. I don't doubt your experience, and
when I hear you and others saying it should be avoided it makes me very
cautious. I just prefer to form my opinions based on more objective and
in-depth reviews. That way if a customer asks me about it I can say
something more then it "just plain sucks".

I'm replying with knowledge due to my experience... I do the windows
server & client administration in my company and we are running McAfee
Enterprise suite with ePO server for central deployment and
management... so I assume we are protected at the best McAfee state-of-
    the-art.

well some of ours clients were infected with a virus that up-to-date
official (and licensed) McAfee Viruscan couldn't even detect! and AVS
(that is -and now WAS- Kaspersky lite) detected and cleaned it...

do you think McAfee lite will be better? ;-)

I don't, but I'll never know one way or the other. McAfee has been ****ty
for so long that I'll never touch it again. I don't want to get that stuff
    on my fingers.
