    Question : File delete

I purchased a 320G USB external hard drive and backed up my two hard drives
    about a month ago.
I named each of the two separate files for the date i.e. backup C 061307 and
    backup D 061307.
I decided to do another back up last night and the C drive B/U purge went
fine. It was of a 80G hard drive.
When I attempted to delete the D back up I get the following message:

"cannot delete file backup D because insufficient resources exist to
    complete the requested service".

The same goes for a renaming of the file.

Is there any way to delete this file other than reformatting?

    Thanks for any help.

Try Shift/Delete to bypass the Recycle bin.
