I agree with raiderhater59. The comments right below his are the exact
ones as in a few other posts. They just swapped out the name of the
site. If he was really from that site, he would of actually put it in
the right section for the actual owners.

Hello there,
I represent the discussed web site www.qarchive.org. I didn't know
before about such web site as SiteAdvisor and thanks for one man who
pointed me this one.
I've read a lot of claim and I must to comment all of them.
Our web site (like others our web sites files-repository.com, vista-
files.org) are based on the information that is presented on the ASP
PAD Repository. PAD (Portable Application Description) file is an XML
file that contains full information about software that developers
want to deliver for users. ASP Shareware (www.asp-shareware.org) is
the international organization that help for software developers to
spread their products. One of the tools is the specially developed
software description format - PAD. Those PAD files are very convenient
for software archives like ours to receive necessary information.
To check my tense above just type in Google any of software you
incriminate to us - you will get a lot of web sites non related to us.
This means we are not scammers as someone called us.
If some program that could contain some destructive functions appears
on our web sites this means it is in the ASP PAD Repository before.
Sometimes authors put incorrect program download links and they are
not working. Or they could change a version of a program and delete
previous one without changing in the appropriate PAD file. In this
case people trying to get those programs can't do that. This is not
our fault. Anyway we try to improve the situation and work on this.
About malware.
Also, to protect our users from destructive software we make a
checking with the Dr.Web antivirus and post checking reports. If the
antivirus lets pass some malware it is also not our fault. Anyway, to
improve the situation we prepare the second antivirus to make reports
more full and people will decide do they have to download a program or
not.
About spam.
There is the only one way how we receive e-mail addresses (anyone can
check it). When someone clicks the download link the small window
appears. It asks for a further opinion after a program using. We use
addresses to remind people. But it is no obligatory, it's possible to
pass, just close the window and downloading will be proceeded. If
someone puts an outsider address - is this our fault?
I hope I explained the situation and you people won't think anymore
about us as about rogues and scammers.

I'm somewhat puzzled that this web site is still rated green. If one
did a Google search for "malware portal," it wouldn't be at all
inappropriate for this web site to be the first hit. Here are some of
the find products they promote at their many and varied subdomains,
along with links that describe these products from Sunbelt Software's
research:

I felt like I was in the middle of a infected village once I left and
ran the scans that were scheduled.
I knew I would but I had to take the plunge and see what all
happened.
I do this quite often so I can post the after affects to members of my
site as a warning.
Seems to work. Bad experience all around. Best to have your waders on
when going to this site or prepare to reinstall if you click enough.
Shame we cannot pick more then one when reviewing sites

Many - or a better word, most - of the products listed on this site
are shady, such as WinAntiSpyware. Many of the products' pages also
mislead, as their title includes the word "free", yet reveals that the
full version costs money.
I agree with dean, do not trust this site. Most of the products there
are not worth it.

Addendum: Oddly, this site is rated green, while another site run by
the same scammers, filesrepository.com, is rated RED for the reasons I
cited below. The other sites mentioned in my review (online-idea.com
and vista-files.org) are currently un-rated.

This site is a shill for the scammers that distribute The Shield
Antivirus 2007, The Shield Pro 2007, PC Security Shield, WinAntiSpy,
WinAntiVirus and other rogue products. These scammers have been cited
by SpywareWarrior for the following:
False positives work as goad to purchase
Poor and misleading scan reporting
Deceptive advertising
Advertises through adware
Recruits affiliates through spam
Qarchive.org contains thousands of similarly named sub-domains that
promote rogue products. This is a typical strategy of scammers, most
likely to game search engine results. Some sample sub-domains
include:
active-protection-shield.qarchive.org
antivirus-soft.qarchive.org
pc-secure-shield.qarchive.org
pc-security-explorer.softigo-com.qarchive.org
pcsecurityshield-notlong-com.qarchive.org
pcsecurityshield-r-n-n.qarchive.org
pcsecurityshield.qarchive.org
security-shield.qarchive.org
shield-pro-antivirus.qarchive.org
shield.qarchive.org
the-shield-2007.qarchive.org
the-shield-pro.pc-security.qarchive.org
The same scammers that run this site have other sites which are nearly
identical, including filesrepository.com, online-idea.com and vista-
files.org. Surfers should do their browsing for files at respected
sites like Download.com and Snapfiles.com. For more information, see:
