OK, i've done everything asked from the previous posts. Though i have installed "Mike Lins Startup Control Panel" i can't find it on my computer... Any idea where it saves itself to?

Finally as for my computer. It's running pretty much tip top now, my internet connection is a tad strange though. though i am downloading at a VERY fast rate (I have an 8mb connection) bringing up web pages takes quite a long time (Other than google)

My brother put in a router for us a while ago, i'm not sure iof that could be the cause in some way.

Look in your Control Panel for the StartUP Control Panel

Icon looks like this one in the attached.

Google has no pictures on it. Give me a couple examples of long loading web pages.

Have no idea why this site would take so long. The other one maybe because of all the graphics.
Could be your security settings in your browser are set too high. Set them to medium and see if that makes a difference, here at least.
What browser are you using, by the way?

You WERE using what? You left that out...
This slow loading is happening just with Firefox or both browsers?
Which version of Firefox are you using?

I downloaded the latest version of firefox about 4 days ago (Don't know if it has updated since then)

It is both browsers, Internet explorer goes in to a near endless loading until i refresh enough for the page to come up, & Firefox goes in to some sort of "Time Out" thing

    Try these new settings with Firefox;
1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

    network.http.pipelining
    network.http.proxy.pipelining
    network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. To change the entry, double click on it.

    2. Alter the entries as follows:

    Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

    Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.If you have dial-up, set it to 15.

    3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0" without the quotes. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

Do not set any of these values over 30 otherwise admins will ban you from their sites for opening too much requests on their servers.

    Lightbulb

If you guys don't mind me butting in:

Two separate browsers having the same slowness leads me to believe it is a problem with your network related configuration, possibly, as you mentioned, the router.

Always check the the basic, low-tech possibilities first! In this scenario, I would try bypassing the router to see if the problem disappeared or not.
