For the second time now, SAS has popped up a notice that a newer version is
available with an option to download and install. I click on that option,
the little popup window closes, and nothing happens. So I go to the SAS
site, download the free trial version. It makes me uninstall my current
version and reboot. Then I install the updated version and it says my trial
period has expired. So I go into my email and search for the email with the
registration number in it and copy it into my clipboard and go back into
SAS to enter the number and it'll only paste the first 3 numbers in.
Fortunately it's still in the clipboard so I open notepad and paste it in
there and then write it down, then go back and type it in. None of my
preferences have been saved, so basically it's just like installing it from
scratch again.
Is this the way an upgrade is supposed to be?
The same thing happened going from 3.6 to 3.7.
