Can any free proxy server defeat astalavista IP hackers?

I installed a free proxy server but astalavista easily defeated it,.
showing my true IP address from a web page pointed at it.
    https://www.astalavista.net/?cmd=net

If you're running a proxy server, would you kindly see if astalavista can
still see your real IP address?

Is there any free proxy server that astalavista can't sneak around to
    reveal your true IP address?

Without having looked at it, I don't think it is the proxy the problem,
probably you have javascript or java enabled?

    Are you sure?
Even with Java and JavaScript turned off, I tried other IP detection sites
and they failed to find my real IP address.
    http://www.whatismyip.com/

But when I tried astalavista's hacking page, they get it right every time
even without Java and JavaScript running
    https://www.astalavista.net/?cmd=net

Which freeware proxy method are you using?

That was a good idea and I did have both Java and JavaScript enabled, but
even without them enabled, astalavista can still hack its way to my real IP
    address https://www.astalavista.net/?cmd=net

The other IP checkers failed to find my IP address but that just means they
are a useless test of proxy servers
    http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/
    http://www.whatismyip.com/
    http://www.proxyjudge.net
    etc

Given astalavista is the toughest test out there, can anyone give us the
name of any PC freeware proxy program that astalavista can't defeat?

It might be that but I thought I installed JAP Anonymous Proxy correctly
when it said to enter "localhost" for the https and port 4001 for the http
    settings http://anon.inf.tu-dresden.de/index_en.html

When I check my anonymity with all the "normal" sites, I'm anonymous. But
when I check with the astalavista hacker site, up pops my IP address.

For those of you who have installed JAP, does it work for you at the
astalavista site or just at the other IP-checking sites?

I'm not sure, but I think your hint solved the immediate problem.

I turned off the Firefox "SwitchProxy" plugin and JAP Anonymous Proxy
started working all of a sudden in the astalavista pages
    https://www.astalavista.net/?cmd=net

I still only have a midway mark between "OK" and "Fair" in the safety meter
so may I ask what I need to do to get it to go to "High" security?

I just tried it with Jap.
Which is currently using proxy 141.76.45.34 (Dresden)
And that's all that astalavista can see.

JAP and Tor *both* defeat everything astalavista tries to do.

You've mucked something up somehow. Left active somethingorother on, or
misconfigured your browser (HTTP and HTTPS often need to be configured
    individually).
