Hello there History Fan; did you ever find out why Avast is displaying
this error message? I found your post while searching for the exact
same error. I have been using Avast for the last 2 years and recently
my system is doing exactly what yours is doing.
After bootup, maybe a few minutes later I get a red box that states
that Avast could not update, when I check the "more information"
button - I see that it states it was unable to updatee due to "unable
to find the file specified". I uninstalled and reinstalled Avast
thinking that would solve the issue, but it did not.
I am able to update if I manually select update from the options. Very
puzzling indeed.
Let me know if you figured it out!
Thanks and best regards,
Don
