    SuperAntispyware - attn: Nick

I have the Pro version. A few days ago there was a popup in my system tray
about a new version (3.7). I clicked on download it now and the notice just
went away but nothing happened. I see on the SuperAntispyware site that
there is indeed a version 3.7. But I still have 3.6. When I Check for
Updates, a little bar comes up saying "Checking for Updates" then goes away
after a few seconds. If I download the trial (Pro) version will it update
    my paid version?

Is SSUPDATE.EXE being blocked by your firewall? Yes, you can uninstall
and update manually to the new 3.7 version.

All I've got is the Windows XP firewall. I'm pretty sure that wouldn't
block it. The definition files are always up to date. I downloaded the
trial version of 3.7 and it made me uninstall my old version. When I
installed the new version I was greeted wtih "Your trial period has
expired". Fortunately, I had my registration key (it's a wonder) and that
    made it happy.
    Thanks for the reply.

I came across some spyware (pop up generator) the other day that was
completely missed by superantispyware (unusual) and it was missed by avg
antispyware. It was picked up as something referred to as heur, and
uncovered by both avg rootkit and fsecure rootkit programmes.

Not knowing the mechanics of rootkit detection, is it possible to
    incorporate into superantispyware??

We detect many rootkits - what was this specifically? Where did you
get it? Do you have the files?

yes i have the files, they begin with beqleb.da_ its a series of three files
all beginning with beqlab. I presume the *.exe file has been renamed to
    prevent it from running......

I am trying to find a link on your site to upload to, without much
    success...
