    Opera - serious privacy concern

Yeah, since at least Opera 9.10-20061214.1 (for linux at least) they have
included "trusted sites" and "phish tank", "anti fraud protection".
There's a little question mark on the right side of the address bar which
you click to "check" the "security status" of the current website. I have
read that firefox 2,x is or will be implementing a similar feature. I have
    no information regarding IE.

This feature is a serious potential privacy concern.

What it means is that the web browser connects to an external registry
or database and transmits the url or web address of the page you are
currently visiting to the third party registry where the url is checked
against a database of known or suspected websites. Of course your own
IP number is available along with the web browsers "inquiry" at the
registry's location. Whether they record or keep this information is
    not known by this author.
