I have just developed an Internet connection problem, (detailed below)

I ran AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 7.5.463

it states that the following files have changed:

I understand the hosts file changing but I don't
know why the other files would change.

c:\windows\system32\user32.dll

c:\windows\system32\shell32.dll

c:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

c:\windows\system32\drivers\hosts

Could anyone provide any thoughts or suggestions as to what I might do
next?

Thanks

Connection problem details:

PROBLEM
=======
everything was fine until this evening.

now I can not connect to the Internet through my desktop PC.

I can connect to the Internet using my laptop. no problems there.

I get the message
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

I can however access the WiFi's router setup menu vie IE7.

the signal strength indicates in the system tray is excellent 85%

I can connect and transfer files between my laptop and desktop
and vice-versa

they are both connected to a broadband WiFi router, both wirelessly
no cables at all.

the only two things I have done tonight are:

1) connect a camcorder to the firewire port for the first time, this set
the new hardware wizard working, all went OK (I think) and I captured a
bit of video from the camcorder using Microsoft movie maker.

I don't know if this has upset the onboard WiFi which seems to be
connected through a USB interface even though the WiFi it is on the
motherboard.

I have now disconnected the camcorder and all cables..

2) updated AVG anti virus.

I have tried so far;

disabling the firewall and the anti virus software both disabled at the
same time.

what should I do next?

thanks
