    uninstalling SuperAntiSpyware - a pain

    I have just uninstalled SuperAntiSpyware - or so I thought I had.

    It has disappeared from my Add/Remove programs' list - but it is still
    there.

    How do I get rid of it completely - and why does it not uninstall itself
    completely fist time (Nick?)

    Any solutions welcome.

    [I'm running Win XP SP2.]

    Please try the following Command Line...

    MsiExec.exe /X{CDDCBBF1-2703-46BC-938B-BCC81A1EEAAA}

    { Suggestion: You can copy and paste into Start --> Run }

    It's likley something corrupted part of the uninstaller - simply re-
    install, then immediately uninstall.

    You could try reinstalling then uninstalling again in case the first
    uninstall file became corrupt. If not you could try uninstall then
    use RegSeeker or similar to clear every reference out of the registry
    and remove the SuperAntiSpyware files using file manager.

    I got rid of it OK using Win XP Pro SP2 as I did not like it at all

    If the "it" you are referring to is SuperAntiSpyware, I think you are
    missing out on a very good anti-malware program. SAS has some annoying
    tendencies (e.g. you can't just open it and run, you have to kill it
    from the task bar) but I've found that SAS is very good at finding and
    cleaning malware from computers. And you can't beat the support
    provided by Nick and his team.

    What didn't you like about "it"?

    I agree with Andy's comments, especially the bit about SAS support &
    Nick. However on my small memory machine (192 MB ram) it was also taking
    a lot of time to run (~40 minutes) and slowing everything down during
    that period.

    Anyway, re-install and uninstall did the trick. Thanks

    Now a spyware cleaner that uses no RAM, and is finished completely in a
    minute or 2 would be great, but would it really do the job?

    (tongue firmly in cheek)
