Scanning for virus from a CD

I have a computer which I suspect has viruses and spyware which I would like
to scan from a CD. Is it possible to copy the required NIS files (including
the up-to-date signatures) to a CD?

If this not possible is it possible to download something that will do the
    job?

    Thanks.

    I use Ultimate boot disk , http://www.ubcd4win.com/
Hiren's boot disk is ok but has allot of " stolen programs" on it.

Ubd4win took me about six hours to figure everything out the first time (I
refused to read the instructions on the website), but printed them out in
    the end.
Hirens disk is more DOS like and boots to Win98 too, http://www.hiren.info/
look to the left for downloads

Ubd4win runs XP off of the CD and is a more refined tool in my humble
    opinion.
