Never had one and don't plan to either. I can't think of anyone in my immediate family that has ever had one. I do get sick on rare occasions, but usually only once every year of so and it generally only lasts about 24-36hrs, so I just never felt the need to bother with such a thing. Kids bring colds home from school every once in awhile, but I just feel like it's better for them to fight it off on their own rather than get help from a flu vaccine. I have a friend that gets them every year and he always seems to be sick. I think his immune system is just not as active as most people's so maybe it's a good idea for him, but I just can't help wondering if maybe the vaccine weakens his bodies ability to respond to flu viruses that are not in the vaccine.

The CDC is only able to put a few of the flu viruses in the vaccine and it is not uncommon for them to guess wrong.

Yeah, they have also changed the flu vaccine so it no longer contains any live virii in it. Now everything in the vaccine is dead.

I don't plan on getting one. I know exactly what makes me ill (lack of sleep), I can usually spot it cominga few days off and I can normally just sleep it off. Outside of the normal cold, I just don't get ill. My bodies immune system can handle pretty much anything on it's own, and I don't like the thought of having any more needles stuck in me than neccessary, particularly for something that 99% of the time I know I won't ever need anyway.
