    spurious or spam/virus e/mails

    g'day friends,

of late i have been getting an e/mail that somehow is generated from
my hotmail account from me to me.

here are a couple of details the number is always different:

    <Daily News <gardeninglen@notsohotmail.com>

    To : <gardeninglen@notsohotmail.com>
    Subject : Hotmail News 2573986459 >

    To : <gardeninglen@notsohotmail.com>
    Subject : Hotmail News 7808302232

there is this information line at the head of each e/mail:

< The sender of this message, gardeninglen@notsohotmail.com, could not
be verified by Sender ID. Learn more about Sender ID. >

prior to today i ahd been geting about 4 a week on those occassion
maybe 2 on any one day.

but today i have already had 4.

what can i do to stop this please?

    sorry forgot to say:

the text comes as a bitmap in the body of the e/mail but is not an
    attachment.

would i first have to detemine where the e/mails are originated from?
as these e/mails are shown to be from me to me.

i thought with all these whiz bang programs around that i could get
more positive help ie.,. i.d who did this in the first place? they
must have left some code on my machine or something that is traceable?
