Latest version of Spysweeper slow to unusable?

I recently upgraded to Spysweeper 5.3.1 and I find that it is now
terribly slow. A full sweep would take (guessing here) over 24 hours
    on my peecee.

During a sweep, Windows Task Manager shows low CPU usage. Disk drives
    are mostly idle too.

I filed a trouble ticket with Webroot, but I have received no updates
after two days. Typical for consumer software, I guess.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I have the same version and a custom sweep, including root kits, completes
    in about 15 minutes. I'm running a Dell 8300 2.8GHz 1GB RAM XP Home SP2.

I'm also using spysweeper 5.3.1 with no problems.

    David,

I also have the 15 minutes or so scan. Something to take a look at
would be to bring up the Task Manager, select the Process tab, find
Spysweeper, right click, select Set Priority, and see what it says. If
it is set as Below Normal, or Low, that would explain why it is
apparently only running at low priority. Unfortunately if that is the
case, I have no idea how it got that way.
