    Any free, good RESIDENT antispyware progrs for WIN98?

    Not just scanners like Ad-Aware or SpyBot.

    place, and should be an essential part of your protection.

    Actually that is not correct. SpywareBlaster cannot not prevent malware
    from installing itself. What it does is add killbits to the registry
    which tells Windows that THAT control cannot run. That means the
    malware DOES install but can't run. Install programs doen't have
    killbits. The author used to be correct in the definition of his
    program but for some goofy reason got carried away and started making
    claims that just aren't true of his product. It is still a good product
    but realize that it is static protection so you have to reexecute the
    program to update that protection, and it does NOT prevent malware from
    installing, only from running - sometimes.
