    aprotectedpage.com hijacker

I've recently been infected by whatever spyware redirects me to the
aprotectedpage.com website. My AVG(free0 does not detect or remove this.
Do I need something else to be protected? AVG/Grisoft has a spyware
    product, does it work well?
    Thanks

That is a ploy to purchase "SpyHeal". It's on the rogue list.

Start with the first one here:

Someone else will have to answer this question.

Downloaded Spybot, and it took care of the problem. I've used AVG for
virus protection for years and that works well, still don't know about the
AVG Spyware product. I've been warned to stay away from Spyerase.

    Thanks to all who responded.

That's fine but when Spy Heal returns you will spend more time again trying
to remove it, something that Spyerase will do in 2 minutes. Why do you
    believe the trolls?

Maybe the OP didn't use it because REPUTABLE applications are available
    for the authors/vendors.

Maybe the OP didn't use it because of the malicious/foul content you host
    on your website?

And it will UPDATE your hosts file to block access to programs that remove
    malware.

Maybe the reason people don't use your crap is because they don't approve
of the Foul/Malicious/Pornographic content on your website?
