And since nothing on the internet is private, since it flows through many
public points, since Terrorists and Criminals use it to facilitate their
crimes, what are you afraid of?

If you are not doing anything illegal you don't have anything to worry
    about.

    | The 'terrorists & criminals' part is bollocks.
    <SNIP>
No...the terrorists and criminals part is not bollocks. Criminals have been
using the internet for years and terrorists only more recently. Just
because a terrorist may appear to be crazy, stupid, illiterate or
technically feeble, I can assure you that is not the case. Just as many
people now use the internet to steal, pass messages, make wire transfers or
do criminal things, one should never underestimate the enemy. Osama may
look like a fool wearing a turban and Al-Quida may look like idiots running
around shooting automatic weapons but the world has not heard the last from
them and the use of the internet to facilitate their fanaticism is a gift to
    them.

Would you say that those holding terrorists don't have to worry about the
    FBI?

    | Whoosh.
    | How many terrorists and criminals have been caught by the FBI?
    |
If they caught one or more, that would be a good thing.

    | They haven't - but it's not stopping them keeping a note of everything
    | ordinary people are up to.
    |
I believe that they have caught criminals and terrorists over the years by
the use of technology. As an ordinary person, I don't have a problem with
the 3 letter agencies looking for terrorists by the use of technology. I'm
not a terrorist and have nothing to hide. The times are changing and we
must adapt to survive or we'll go the way of other countries that no longer
exist or exist in anarchy. I know that the saying "Freedom is not free" is
old but today and for the future, the past is a harbinger of things to come.
We've defiantly not had the final act of terrorism committed against us. We
can do all we can now to stop it in the future or we can stick our heads in
the sand and hope the bad guys will forget about us.

The intel reports seem to indicate more than 1 have already been caught
and additional plots have been disrupted.
