Any Usenet Client does that - stop using a crappy email client for
    Usenet.

I think you misunderstood. I said, "troll feeding", not "trolls". If I
killfiled everyone who feeds trolls in this NG, a lot of very relavent
messages from otherwise very intelligent people would disappear.

And if you were using a proper usenet client you could create rules that
you could customize to identify things that you consider "feeding" signs
and then not see the posts.

On the list of freeware below, you'll see links to Xnews, 40tude Dialog,
Newsproxy, and Hamster. If that doesn't do the trick, nothing else will.
And you can always ignore threads or sub threads that don't interest you,
whether they are spam, trolls, off-topic, or whatever.

Use a killfile to kill the trolls and/or the threads. Even OE is
capable of doing that, but it's a darn site easier with other
    newsreaders.

    Charani

Thank you. I do use OE (and Newsproxy). Its just a PITA to kill threads and
you normally have a few before you realise its going to be a knock-down,
drag-out troll fest.. Troll feeders also start new threads on the same topic
(I ashamedly admit, this falls into the same category). The slightly veiled
message to the group to stop troll feeding seems to have gone over the
target audience heads. So, at the risk of provoking THE troll and everyone
else, I'll get a little less obtuse.

This is not intended for Charani but is aimed at the group who responds to
    THE troll:

Why is it an otherwise intelligent people always reacts to provocation by
THE troll. Let's keep on topic and ignore that which must be ignored. Be
warned, patience is a must. After so much feeding trolls go into a frenzy
when starved. IT will find it difficult not to react to this. IT's reaction
is likely to be another BS message defending IT's stance in the face of
    over-whelming opposition.

    Troll,
Whether you wrote some piece of software or not, behind all that crap your
produce on line, you do seem intelligent. However, you also seem obsessive
(I know, you believe others are). My advice: Cut back on your time on the
PC; take a month or so vacation from the NG; get some fresh air; talk
face-to-face with people for a while (maybe take that six-year-old nephew
fishing?); when you do get on-line, keep on topic; when you get on line,
avoid offending others (OK, I failed with this but I now consider ourselves
even); when you do get on line, don't feed your trolls. Keep this up and you
    will gain respect over time.

    All,
Please take a voe NEVER to react to your trolls (including this message). It
    serves no purpose.

If anyone other than THE troll is offended, that is definitely unintended
and I apologise in advance. Apart from the troll feeding and occasional
insult to each other, you form a great NG.

Rant over. Nothing further from me on the matter. Hopefully, nothing
    further from anyone else, either.
