    I never noticed the post. I have now... ;-)

    Anyway, my hosts file (updated 16th January) contains a dozen "atdmt.com"
    entries including the one you listed, and I can access EBay. I really have
    no idea why it should be blocking you.

    The host file blocks access to anything associated with the domain
    xyzetc.admt.com - that doesn't mean that it's the name of a type of malware
    or spyware; it means that the domain(s) are listed as either "suspect" or
    possibly complicit in downloading spyware, or (in this case) primarily
    concerned with advertising.

    The entries in the hosts file should block the ads and/or associated
    tracking cookies, not the page that actually hosts the ads.
