    Making Slimbrowser the default browser

I have Internet Explorer, Slimbrowswer and SBC Yahoo on my computer. I use Slimbrowser myself. Often times when clicking on a link, it will open up IE even though I have Slimbrowser open. How can I make Slimbrowser the default browser? Will this still enable SBC Yahoo to open? Thanks. I have windows xp.

Patti, you would have to look through either their Options Setting or their Help listing to find this. I tried to research for you on the website but any questions posted directed me back to page one. So I am not certain. There should be a setting someplace, and as I said, probably Options, that will allow you to make the browser you default browser.
May I ask, did you get your other problems solved? You should really solve other problems before going onto another.

No, I haven't got the other problem resolved, but I was not receiving any more replies. I have just given up on it - I guess I will have to call a tech.
I have checked all around slimbrowser, options>help there was no reference to that at all.
    Thank you very much.

Patti, if you look at your previous thread concerning your slow computer you will see that PP did answer you on the 19th with a suggestion and a question. You did not respond. We can't help unless we receive responses to our questions.

I also must tell you that in researching THIS question I have found on numerous sites that that Slimbrowser does use more resources than the other browsers available and therefore CAN cause your computer to slow down.

I also found several references to a button on Slimbrowser called Clean All Traces. Every review I read said that this button should be AVOIDED as it does exactly what it says it does.... and it is a bit dangerous for the users that depend on cookies. It will do a very thorough cleaning and will erase all the address bar history, quick search history and it will clean all your cookies and cached files....hence slowing your surfing ability because there is no reference point for the browsers to use because they all are erased.

I did answer PP, I answered all the posts I thought and did all the stuff he said. I kept checking back several times a day to get help. I tried everything that I was told.
I was on the Firefox forum and several people there said it was slower than IE. Firefox also doesn't have the nice features that slimbrowser has. What browser do you use? I think I have asked you this before. I really like the way tab browsing works on slimbrowser.
I really don't know what to do anymore re this. The more forums you read, the more contradictory they are.

Patti, PP posted to you on the 19th. It is the first post on page #4 of your Very Slow computer thread. You didn't respond.

I use Firefox. It also has tabbed browsing. It is much faster and safer than Internet Explorer. I have used Slimbrowser at one time and it DID slow my computer but honestly cannot recall the actual reason I stopped using it but slow browsing was not the reason. I have used Firefox for nearly two years and have had no problems with it at all.

I thought I had responded to it, I wonder if I did in another post.
Would you please be so kind as to tell me what version you are using of FF and how you got tabbed browsing? Do I just go to Firefox and download it. I have used FF before, but didn't like that they didn't have tabbed browsing and someone suggested I use slimbrowser. I could not get the tabs to appear after each website unless I manually hit cntr T I think it was. I do so much browsing, I want it to be automatic.
Also, I need to transfer my favorites from slimbrowser over to FF. That I couldn't figure out.
    Thank you so much

I am using Firefox version 1.5.0.7. I have used it for a long time and believe I began using it with their very first version. Tabbed Browsing was always available with Firefox as near as I can recall. At least I have always had it since I have been using it.
Tabbed browsing is very easy with Firefox. If you note by my attachment I have multiple tabs open. When I am researching items for a thread here for example I have had as many as 15 tabs open. This can be accomplished either by pressing the New Tab button at the top OR by hovering over a link, either on a web page or in your favorites and clicking on the scroll wheel. This will open a new tab. Then if you want to close that tab just hover over it again and click the scroll wheel. The tab closes.
Honestly don't know how to transfer favorites from Slimbrowser into Firefox. I only had to transfer from Internet Explorer.
Don't see in any of your total posts where you answered PP's last question...that would really not have been possible.

slimbrowser is INternet Explorer, just with a different look. So can you tell me how you did it with IE?
Also, where is the tab button? When I click the middle wheel on my mouse, it scrolls the page up or down. What do you mean by hovering over a link, either on a web page or in your favorites and clicking on the scroll wheel. So FF doesn't do just automatic tabbed browsing?
What version of Firefox are you using to accomplish this?
    Thanks.

Okay, when I first opened your attachement, I didn't get your whole post, so I didn't see what version you were using. I apoligize - I see it now. I downloaded version 2.0 and that does not have a "new tab" button, that is why I couldn't find it.
    Thank you for your help.
