    Can't answer that. I only tried it for one day. I found it to be very slow,
    and not very useful.

    It found lots of cookies on my wife's laptop, calling them medium-level
    threats. Gee!

    It claimed that the GNU/Cygwin "netcat" program is a threat. I don't think
    it is.

    I prefer Adaware. Others like Spybot. But this AVG item is none too swift.

    YMMV.

    When I first installed it, it found several spyware apps that were put there
    by Compaq along with the operating system. None of the other malware
    scanners found them. So I do run it every couple of days, just to be safe.

    I have gotten more malware detections from A2 Trojan Scanner. That app
    routinely finds something every couple of weeks, and is the app that I rely
    upon the most.
