Just fro your considertaion I tried superantispyware it it found stuff
that wasn't spyware.

Adaware is always on top of the list on may sites

I use spyware blaster to prevent spyware in the first place
and adaware and spybot if necessary

With adaware it is possible to do manual updates by downloading a
defs.zip file and placing it in the adaware root directory. This is
good if you go on someones computer and can't get on the internet.You
just install it and add extract definition file in the right directory.
A good Portable solution.

Also most programs update automatically
