Just for your considertaion I tried superantispyware, but it it found
stuff that wasn't spyware.

Adaware is always on top of the list on many sites and has been around
for a long time
I use spyware blaster to prevent spyware in the first place
and adaware and spybot if necessary
With adaware it is possible to do manual updates by downloading a
defs.zip file and extract it into the adaware root directory. This is
good if you go on someones computer and can't get on the internet.You
just install it and extract definition file in the right directory.
A good Portable solution.
Also, most programs update automatically
