    Secunia Software Inspector

Anybody ever used the Secunia Software Inspector?

Feature Overview - The Secunia Software Inspector:
    * Detects insecure versions of applications installed
    * Verifies that all Microsoft patches are applied
    * Assists you in updating your system and applications
    * Runs through your browser. No installation or download is required
    http://secunia.com/software_inspector/

It "sounds" like a good idea...I'll have to try it on my home PC.

Yes. I use it and I suggest it.

Note that it is a java applet.

Yep, good stuff. I ran it at home and it found two old versions of
Macromedia Flash Player in ...\system32\Macromedia that I thought were
uninstalled. Even though they were not currently active, they still
contained vulnerabilities that might be used by malware.

Yes. You can un-regester the OCX files and then delete them.
