    quicktime deinstallation

    Am attempting to install a new ipod, downloaded the itunes software, it
    won't install complaining about an old version of quicktime being
    uninstallable; sure wenough, it will not uninstall! Anybody got any ideas?

    brute force and delete the folder, reboot and run a reg cleaner like this

    Use msconfig to disable the quicktime startup program
    (HKLM/software/microsoft/windows/run), reboot, and then try
    uninstalling it. If there is no uninstall program find the directory
    and delete it, then run Crap Cleaner to clean up the registry (use the
    issues tab.) You should be able to install the new software after
    that.

    Reinstall QuickTime... then uninstall it.
