    Multiple programs

I have been happy with AdAware, Spybot S&D (with patched
teatimer) and Spyware Blaster and have had no problems for a long
    time.

I also run Trend Micro Internet Security. Now that the 2007
version has more comprehensive spyware protection (which updates
*very* regularly) does anyone have any experience of how good it
is and whether it can replace any of my other programs? I don't
believe that any one program can give complete protection.

    Re: Multiple programs

I was a happy user of PC-cillin for many years until upgrading to the
2007 version a few weeks ago. It had such a severe impact on the
performance of my PC that I removed it completely. My daughter also
upgraded to it, suffered numerous blue screens, particularly when
printing, and reverted to the 2006 version.

I exchanged emails with Trend Micro's technical support who indicated
that an improved version was being worked on. It may be out now but I've
settled on alternative products (Sunbelt CounterSpy 2.0 beta, Sunbelt
Kerio Personal Firewall and AVG's free anti-virus offering plus the
usual AdAware, Spybot S&D and Spyware Blaster).

    Hope the above helps.

    Re: Multiple programs

    Many thanks for your comments.
I haven't been plagued with the many blue screens that you have
but I must admit that I am currently looking to improve computer
performance, both with hardware and a re-install. (My W2k
installation is now several years old).
