    File removal

I have a file XXXXXX.exe that is located on two hard drives. It has
    been identified by BitDefender as:

    "looks like a trojan".

When I use Windows Explorer to delete this file then I get the
    message:

    "Cannot delete.
Cannot read from the source file or disk"

Any tips on how I might delete these two files? I've had this problem
in the past but after a reboot then I was able to delete other files.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Downloaded and tried it. Identical same result as Windows Explorer.
I've got a support request into Gibinsoft.

    Thanks any way.

probably located in your System Restore files if you have that running.

Switch it off them clean up all the restore points on your PC. Left
clicking on the drive lets you get into cleaning options.

Have you run scandisk or chkdsk, to make sure you don't have file
    system errors?

Is this truly XXXXXX.exe or is "XXXXXX" meant to be variable ?

In any case, please submit a sample to Virus Total --
    http://www.virustotal.com/flash/index_en.html
The submission will then be tested against many different AV vendor's scanners.
That will give you an idea what it is and who recognizes it. In addition, unless told
otherwise, Virus Total will provide the sample to all participating vendors.

You can also submit a suspect, one at a time, via the following email URL...
    mailto:scan@virustotal.com?subject=SCAN

When you get the report, please post back the exact results.

"Cannot read from the source file or disk" usually means the file
is on a bad spot on the hard drive. Run scandisk or chkdsk and
    see if that fixes it.

Just received a note from technical support at BitDefender. All I had
to do was disable BitDefender then do a standard delete of the two
files. Seems BitDefender puts a death grip on suspected felon files.

Thanks for the various responses to my request.
