    About.com pushing errorsafe?

You wouldn't expect this from a company like about.com but it seems to
    be true.

    I was visiting
    http://scifi.about.com/od/merchandis...for_XFiles.htm
and suddenly I found the well known popup.

Quick trawl trough the source at I suspect this script:
    http://an.tacoda.net/an/11775/slf.js

This in turn seems to handle the popup window.

I know that companies like tacoda, doubleclick and all the others
absolutely don't give a **** what kind of banners they publish but
somehow I'd expect differently from a company like about.com.

And are you also saying that this happened whilst browsing with Firefox
    2.0?

    Cheers,

'fraid so. Of course tacoda and errorsafe are now in the adblocker
blacklist but yes, it did happen.

With firefox you don't get more than a popup but it's still annoying
    enough.

I've never seen one with v.2.0, and seldom ever with previous versions
either. It could of course depend upon which addons have been installed.

But thanks for the reply, I shall take it as a warning not to be too
    complacent.

    Cheers,

    Roy

I tried your link and had no pop ups or intrusions of any sort. Do
you have the pop up blocker enabled?
