Spybot detects spyware but won't delete it

I'm running windows 2000. I'm using spybot as the pc is running a
little "strangely" and sure enough it picks up 9 entries (all microsoft
securing window entries). I press fix. It says that it's fixed all 9,
but then they are back again the next time. Is it a coincidence that my
windows update facility doesn't work?

What can I do?

Switch off system restore before you run Spybot...
Then switch it on again after it is done. Don't forget System Restore will
restore spyware and viruses too.
