Well, if your ISP dosn't provide you with Usenet acess then you have a
point. If it does and you still use Google then you are a noob.

My ISP doesn't provide me with Usenet, not at work or home. I use only
Google to read ng and haven't had any trouble so far. I run
Superantispyware, spybot s&d, adaware every couple of weeks and always
come out clean (that's at home, at work I don't care since I can't use
an admin account).
I know I could use a free ng server to read at home, but I see no point
in it, since google has worked alright (I have no use for a killfile so
far) and that would mean that I have to open another port on my pc, so
I think I'll just stick with google.
Still I don't think I'm a noob.

Actually, more and more large ISP's are removing Usenet access from
their services.
Usenet is only used by a minority of their customers, yet generates a
dis-proportionate number of complaints, so they don't want the hassle.
And, to Gustavo, some of your responses via Google are being repeated.
It is a far from ideal means of posting. It really is meant for reading.
I use news.motzarella.org, a free service and find it very good. Why
don't you try it? If you have never tried a proper news client, you
have no idea what you are missing.

Yea, I know, and my ISP provides one but their retention sucks and is why I
pay for easynews instead.

If you said that some of my responses are being repeated because I
posted two messages a couple of posts ago in this same thread, I have
to say that it wasn't google's fault, it was mine, since I thought the
message wasn't still sent so I tried to stop it, correct it and re-send
it; so apologies for that.
I know about motzarella free service because I am suscribed to it and
used to have 40tude at home to use it, but since I won't use 40tude at
work and read most of ng there (at work), I rather use just google so I
don't have to load all the messages at home to see wich of the messages
I have already read (through google). IMO, reading ng hrough google
makes more sense if you are going to read ng through different places
and don't have control of one of the PCs configuration. If I would only
read ng at home, I would use the 40tude/mozarella setup.
