among the other similar products?
Is it truly free?
Thanks.

Moreover, it functions by sort of "inoculating" against malware. It never
needs to run, except for updating and/or checking whether it has indeed
done it's "thing". See the site:

Rate and rank, I do not know - though many people use it. I do...

Yes. http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
From noted Spyware hunter and MS - MVP, Andrew Clover;
<paste>
SpywareBlaster disables certain ActiveX control class IDs associated with parasites.
This has the effect of hobbling some parasites if they are installed, and preventing many
others from loading by ActiveX drive-by-download in Internet Explorer.

For all replies a hearty thanks!
MikeC
Make sure you get it from the Javacool site directly. There is rogue
spyware out there taking advantage of JavaCools' product name.
SpywareWarrior has listed the software from
spywareblaster[dot]com
as rogue spyware.
For more info on spyware check out
www.newbiesecurity.com/spyware.html
and
spywarewarrior.com
Hope this helps.
