video capture woe's

I've been looking for a good wdm video capture application to use with my x850pro-vivo. It needs to work with windows 9x and xp. I found one that sort of works called avi_vo but It's been cutting off the captures after about 2 minutes even though I have it set to 4 minutes?? it will capture for the whole four minutes but after the file is finished writing to the disk it gets clipped in half? It could be a file size limmit since the files are initially about 2gigs each but I don't seam to have the same problem saving hi-res images around 1.6 gigs or large archive's over 2 gigs so I'm thinking the application is screwy. Anyone doing video capture know of a good application with a free trial?
