    amd computer

    hi gang.

a buddy of mine has an amd chip.

when it starts to bootup, it goes so far & then gives a single beep & then
goes to the page where one can select safe mode.

it doesn't matter what i select at that point, it goes thru it's gyrations
again, beeping once & comes back to the same point.

can anyone tell me the most likely answer to the problem?

i am guessing either a bad hard drive or a bad virus. (more likely harddrive
    problem)

    HELP
    thanks
    ralph

Post codes are built into the BIOS to indicate clues for
    troubleshooting.

Sometimes clearing CMOS will jumpstart the system into behaving again
(it resets the BIOS to default factory settings.)
