Somehow I have gotten infected with "aboutblank" and trying to find a
software package that will remove it. Any help certainly appreciated.

Hi;

CWshredder is an excellent utility to have in ones arsenal, whereas
SuperAntiSpyware is a much more versatile application.
Try and keep both, you'll be glad you did.
