What is first on the list?

Thanks for the info. I re-imaged the original hard drive to use as a backup, and didn't know which update to go for first. My HP branded (ugh!) comp is about 1-2 years old now so the list/number of needed Windows security updates after re-imaging is probably sizable.

You might also want to update your image so that it covers the most up-to-date Windows security updates and/or service pack.
If the image has to remain a bit generic or simply is not possible to update it, then you might want to download the full ServicePack2 (266MB) and burn it on a CD or something so it can be used to update 1 or more PCs from standard XP or XP with ServicePack1 installation to SP2 with one step.

If you do not or can not update to SP2 for whatever reasons, at least install the security patches as PP mentioned, that would be the bare minimum and initial step towards securing your PC.
