NEW - Spybot defs Oct. 13th

    Unbelievable!! There were 10 downloads!!

First time around 2 of them had *bad checksums* (whatever those are) and
    they were "Keyloggers and Security".

Second time (without shutting down the program), they installed.

Don't forget to Immunize....can't remember the number tho.

    Cheers......Heather

USA server running now, so a smooth update for me. Biggest update
    I've ever seen from Spybot.

I always choose Safer Networking #2 (Europe). I don't think it has
    *ever* failed me.

I'm about ready to dump Spybot Search & Destroy though. I've been
running SuperAntispyware on all the computers I get in now, and it never
    leaves anything for Spybot.

Thought I'd give SuperAntispyware a go, however, I ran Spybot AFTER and
Spybot picked up 3 additional threats. I then ran AdAware and that
picked up 16 negligible threats. I can only imagine they all have
    slightly varying dat files.

    Keith,

What EXACTLY was found? SpyBot and Ad-Aware both identify "warning"
items that really are not threats and they also detect LOTS of cookies
which, of course, are not really harmful to the computer.

I would be curious to see exactly what they located.

    Hello Nick,

Next time I run it i'll make a note of what Spybot and AdAware found
after I ran SUPERAntiSpyware, but yes you are right some were cookies.
Spybot I think located 'Hitbox' and one other, it picks them up every
time so it must be something that is regularly visited on my pc.
One thing did happen, after I installed SUPERAntiSpyware and restarted
the PC I kept ketting a repeating MS message to send error report, I
sent one, but still had to click it again and again about 20 times
before it left me alone. The standard message that came back was 'stop
error message' and something to do with drivers, what was that all
about? However, I've rebooted a couple of times since and NOT had the
same messages again. Here is the report:

Btw, the last entry was off someone elses PC when I copied his hard disc
before I reinstalled Windows, which was well corrupted after Memory failure.

I must say I do like the look of SUPERAntiSpyware

Thanks for the information. I have no idea what the stop/crash messages
were about - if it happens again and you can get any information -
please pass it along to me and I will look into it!

Thanks for the compliment on SUPERAntiSpyware - it is being quite
widely adopted - our new 3.3 version speeds up the scanning by 30%-40%
    - which was one of peoples "complaints" - the reality is if you are
going to scan lots of files to make sure there are no infections it
    does take time!
