did you simple try to uninstall and reinstall ad-aware. maybe something
is corrupted (like the def file). there are resent posts to this group
that describing how to delete/rename the def file to fix the download
issue.

I uninstalled it, then reinstalled from its site. It said it was 500 days
out of date then but in 2 days it was downloading updates correctly,
yesterday, the 12th, came in perfectly. Whatever the glitch was, it's gone
now.
