That's up to you. You asked about SuperAntiSpyware. It is an excellent alternative.

I've run SAS; fine, but very slow.
Thanks for your help, very much appreciated.

I run Ad-Aware SE Personal Build 1.06r1. I just started it up. It said I
have SE1R125 06.10.2006 I clicked "Check for updates now", and it
offered Build:SE1R126 12.10.2006 I clicked "OK" and it appeared to
download correctly, but when I was done, I still had SE1R125 06.10.2006
I closed it, restarted, and went through the same process again, with
the exact same results.
It look like there's a problem of some sort.

I went to the site and downloaded SE1R126 dated 12.10.2006
I then checked the level after a scan and that is the definition in my
PC.

did you simple try to uninstall and reinstall ad-aware. maybe something
is corrupted (like the def file). there are resent posts to this group
that describing how to delete/rename the def file to fix the download
issue.
