I finally succeeded in getting the AdAware update through the
interface. This seems to be more than just a busy server. Anyway it
    worked.

Note to Len: Your sig delimiter seems to be out of adjustment. (Dash
    dash space enter.)

    g'day james,

not sure what you mean i'm a rank novice at computers and jargon?

is there a fix or soemthing i can check?

i eventually after many tries did manage to get the download on that
machine, i was on the verge of un-installing ad-aware and
re-installing it. don't know if that would have helped.

As I am not familiar with Agent I will defer to someone who knows
better. But the adjustment will be where you set your signature in
Agent. It should be dash dash space enter just above your signature.
Note mine below. This prevents most clients from quoting the sig down
    thread.

What seems to be missing is the SPACE after the two dashes.

What James means is that his newsreader (Gravity) isn't stripping your
sig file out which should happen automatically. I'm not altogether
sure that it's completely the way that your newsreader (Agent) is set
up that's at fault because my newsreader (Dialog) *is* stripping out
    your sig file.
