I've noticed....ESPECIALLY since working as a CSR....I wish I could REALLY tell a customer to box up their computer and send it back as they are too stupid to own one...but NOOOO...

For the most part, all the stoopid questions go to the help desk. People usually just ask me to install hardware or software that requires admin rights. Im the only one at our location that knows the admin password AND is willing to use it.
I think there are three or four others that know the admin password, but they wont use it because they are afraid they will get in trouble.

Ive got a buddy from college that worked a Tier 1 support for several years. they kept promising to move him to Tier 2 and only made the offer when he turned in his resignation letter.

They gave out bonuses based on call times, he got it every month for a year and a half. He said people would call and ask for him specifically.

Wow....see, we don't get that kind of stuff, but then again, we probably don't have nearly as many customers either...i think we have about 75-80k. But we take, on average, less than 10k calls/month.

Im not sure how many customers they had, it was some hospital software so I cant imagine there being that many customers.

but they log calls and record calls so you cant do that...

Well, actually, they don't record all of our calls, in fact they really don't record many of them. They just randomly record a call here and there for our review...but in any case, NO i can't do that...
