Admittedly I'm probably behind the times on this, but just what the heck
is All your base are belong to us? I noticed on a web site I was visiting.
It was an image, turned 90 degree clockwise, amongst all the other images.
I turned my head to read it, and thought it was strange, but then, the
author of the site is a little strange, too.
I went to a commercial site. http://www.tektite.com to be precise. This is
a manufacturer of rugged flashlights/torches, especially for the diving
profession and hobby. All it had at the top was "This is a waste of
space" and at the bottom, "All your bases are belong to us."
So I searched google. What I found was a huge array of web sites that,
somewhere on one or more of there pages, have this quote. Usually it is
accompanied by other, barely english, almost jibberish quotes, all of them
having nothing to so with the nature of the web site.
Is this a trojan that has made its rounds already? Is it making the rounds
now? Is it an IIS/WebServer problem, or does it affect Windows clients as
well?
I ran a couple of spyware programs just now to ensure it's not my system.
I'm clean, unless of course this thing is just breaking out and I've been
infected with no (as yet) known cure or prevention.
Anyone have the scoop on this? Spyware blaster and Spyware S&D good enough
to trap and/or remove this?
Thanks,
Frisco
