HELP PLEASE!! seachmaid

Kind of a rookie here..can't get rid of searchmaid..I tried running3 spy
ware programs..but can't get rid of it...can someone tell me how with out
being to technical..it won't even allow me to get to yahoo..

ALSO it says on my start up page I have an IE problem with
Trojan-Spy.HTML.smithfraud.c

Try running HijackThis! (copy/paste HJT logfile at IANAG HJT Analyzer)
and your spyware removers in Safe Mode.
