I'm not sure if this is malware, a bug, or if I'm just doing something
wrong...
I have 4 Google entries in my Firefox search plugins menu - Google-uk
(I live in Scotland), Google Groups, Google Images and Google News.
All with their familiar wee icons.
Lately, another icon has been displacing the regular Google from the
top of the list. The icon is a wee maginifying glass, and seem to be
another Google search option - and there's an extra google.src file in
the search plugins folder. The new option takes me to foreign Google
sites.
I've deleted google.src time and again, and this seems to sort it for
a while. But sooner or later the wee maginfying glass apears again at
the top of the search list (and google.src in the folder) - directing
me to almost anywhere from Mexico to Italy.
It's more annoying that dangerous, as I've come to simply ignore it.
But I'd really like to know what's going on.
John
