I reckon so, cos I listen to your advice, and use it, but I like
the functionality of Windows, and I'll stick with Win2K until
somebody comes up with a Linux variety that sets itself up just
as easily, and I'm not taking out IE until they stop supporting
Win2K, but I only use it for updates.

    Glad to hear it.

Well, at least it's not XP (yuck!).

As for Linux... It's definitely getting there. I won't claim that the
installation and initial configuration is as idiot-proof as Windows usually
is; but it's not onerous either, as long as your hardware isn't really screwy.
And besides, that's only a one-time issue; once it's set up correctly,
ease-of-use is just about on a par, if not superior.

If you want to "dip your toe in" without having to actually commit to
anything, or even slightly "risk" your current setup, check out Knoppix
<http://www.knoppix.net/>. You can download an .ISO, burn it to CD-R, then
boot and run what is essentially Debian Linux directly off that CD-R, with
full access to your existing data files, peripherals, and so on. When you
want to go back to Windows, just remove the CD-R from the drive and reboot.
It couldn't possibly be more painless.

    Eeeewww.

You do realize that you do *not* need MSIE to keep Win2K "updated", right?

The one I used to have is not there, darn it. ;-)

LMAO That strangler sounds like a Hellhound, but never mind.

Here's a song for you, courtesy of Britney Spears:

I think I did it again
I made you believe we're more than just friends
    Oh baby
It might seem like a crush
But it doesn't mean that I'm serious
'Cause to lose all my senses
That is just so typically me
    Oh baby, baby

    Oops!...I did it again
I played with your heart, got lost in the game
    Oh baby, baby
    Oops!...You think I'm in love
    That I'm sent from above
    I'm not that innocent....

And keep on guessing, but it ain't Hoof.

Just somebody who truly believes in Honeymonsters.

    Now <PLONK>

    Firebird
