    Re: Ad Aware update

To add to the confusion, I had no problems loading SEIR36 and it reports
    itself as SEIR36.

And to add even *more* confusion, after *manually* downloading and
installing SEIR36 on 2 April but AdAware saying it was SEIR35, AdAware
*automatically* downloaded SEIR36 today (4 April)!

Lavasoft may be good at detecting malware, but they still have a way to
go in handling updating properly. (And the same goes for Spybot Search &
    Destroy as well).

Though I haven't been troubled recently this sort of thing can
happen when your ISP (or perhaps someone else in the chain?)
caches oft-requested pages and then doesn't update the cache as
frequently as one would like. If this is the case then you can
    not blame Lavasoft.

My routine is to download the defs.zip file manually. Open it in
my unzipper (Pentazip) and if the defs.ref file date is not the
latest then ignore it and download again in a day or two.
