Copy of every file on desktop

Hello, I recently had some spyware installed which consisted of a yellow
triangle on the taskbar telling me that there is spyware on my computer,
click here to fix it (or something like that). My desktop wallpaper also
changed to a black background with a message about spyware installed on my
    computer.
I have managed to remove most of this spyware, however when I create a new
item on the desktop (and only on the desktop), a duplicate file of the same
name is created. If I delete one of the duplicates, the other one is
    automatically deleted.

Does anyone know I can fix this problem

    Thanks

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving
safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in
broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming
    "WOW, WHAT A RIDE"

I encountered this problem about a month ago on a customers PC.
Sounds like an Active desktop Malware
Have you tried shutting it off.
Display properties.web tab and unchecked view as a web page.
and delete the active desktop link giving ya the problem
then scan with the regular stuff.

    let me know
    Mich...

Perform Procedure 1 on my website. Also do a full scan with the 3
antispyware suites mentioned on that page.
