Battlefield 2142 DEMO is OUT

Currently downloading the demo, heard it's got some good graphics and all that etc and the demo is free to download, includes multiplayer etc... HOLLY crap the download is 1.0+Gb thats right over 1 gig, it will take some people days to download it.

Ive heard alot of compaints about it so far but havent downloaded it yet. People are compaining about the game play and the graphics but its just a demo the final is usually better

Chalk up another complaint, for a demo, the download is HUGE! And another complaint, after installing and starting the demo, I found that I can't play unless I have an account setup online... Sooo I recomment sticking to trailer downloads and reading reviews unless you are going to setup an account online. I found alot of flack on different websites about how people would rather have bf2 fixed than play the bf 2142 demo. 2142 looks like an exciting game though.

Has anyone got the actual game? I keep seeing it on sale for $37.99 - $39.99 at FRY's weekend after weekend which kinda led me to think the game was not that great.

I can barely have time to play BF2 + Special Forces as is, so I am not sure if I could play the new one...unless the game is really good cause I prefer futuristic weapons. The BF2 weapons are weak, or at least the game physics. You hit inches away of a player with an AT missile and he doesn't die, not realistic at all!
The accuracy of some of the weps and their effectiveness of the weps are crap imo.

That is why I still play RVS for the most part...

I bought the stupid thing I wish I hadnt. I didnt like the demo and most people have already found numerous bugs and the exploits have already ruined it.

Well, BF2 was running relatively crappy on my somewhat highend system (Gigabyte NF3 mobo, 2x 74GB Raptors in RAID-0, 256MB Nvidia 6800 GT, 2x 1024MB Corsair XMS PC3200 DDR RAM) but the latest patch seemed to make it run much better!

One of my biggest regrets to this day is BF Vietnam! I almost lost it after playing the game an hour while listening to the annoying voice of the enemy commander's yelling in vietnamese...annoying game period!
I crazy glued the game CDs to the dumper in my apartment complex...
