    Moz Users? Import Mozilla Bookmarks

    From another NG -

    <quote>
    Import Mozilla Bookmarks

    I'm trying to import my bookmarks from Mozilla 1.4 to my IE6
    favorites.
    When I do, the folder structure appears to be ok, but the bookmarks
    are all messed up. Many of the folders that have lots of entries
    under Moz have only 1 under IE, and it is a duplicate of other
    folders. I've tried directly importing from Moz, and even exporting
    from Moz to an HTML file, then the IE import. Both methods give the
    same result.

    Does anyone know how to make this work?
    </quote>

    Anyone?

    >TIA

    Suggestion: before we try to sort this out, why not update your version of
    Mozilla? The latest stable release is 1.5, and I'm living dangerously by
    using 1.6a.

    Try the favourites convertor mentioned on
    http://support.microsoft.com:80/supp.../Q152/6/81.asp

    I would also look at the file that Mozilla exported, just open it in
    mozilla, to check whether the file exported is the problem. If it is,
    instead of exporting try using the bookmarks.html file from the Mozilla
    user directory.

    You might try what I do..

    create a folder called "internet" or whatever, then copy your
    "bookmarks.html" from Mozilla to there.

    go into IE and point "home" and/or "favorites" to this folder and file.

    that way your Mozilla bookmarks don't get messed with, and if you make
    changes to them, it's a simple matter of doing another copy to your
    Internet folder and overwriting.

    Forgot to thanks everyone for their comments.

    The "bookmark.html" tip worked, poster seemed happy.
